Come be a part of what is going on at the Oakland Animal Shelter! The staff and volunteers have come together to make big improvements in the lives of the animals at the Shelter. Here are just a few examples: * We've built large outdoor kennels and multiple play areas called the "Coop" to let dogs out during the day. This project was funded by Oakland Raider's player and very active Oakland Animal Shelter volunteer - Jarrod Cooper. * We've emptied one room of small dog kennels to make a large room for puppies to live without cages. The volunteers have painted and remodeled the room to make it a comfortable place to socialize puppies. * We've remodeled our socializing spaces in adoption with beautiful murals to make the space more warm and inviting for potential adopters. * We've made hammocks for our cats in adoption and are making new beds for all of our dogs. * We're changing our cages for our rabbits to give them much more space and comfort. * We're making scheduled time when volunteers come to bathe the d ... read more
