Volunteers will assist Legal Aid's Peninsula Family Advocacy Program (FAP) by making follow-up phone calls to clients whose cases have been closed for two months. Calls serve both research and quality of service purposes. Follow-up calls also lead to intake on new legal issues and follow-up advice on legal issues that should have been resolved. For each family volunteers call, students will review the case file before making the call, complete the 2-month follow-up survey, and consult with FAP staff after making the call if any new issues or questions arise. Volunteers who conduct intake on new issues with families will draft an intake memo for FAP and may be involved in follow-up activities, depending on the issues and volunteerâs availability.
