Senior CMM/Mechanical Inspector
A&D Precision, a growing contract manufacturer located in south Fremont, CA (Bay Area) and is currently searching for an eager and energetic individual for the position of Senior CMM/Mechanical Inspector.
The right candidate would be capable of inspecting complex prototype and production parts in a fast paced Job shop using a variety of methods from surface plate work to a fully programmable Zeiss CMM. This position functions as the lead in the QA department. Department has 2 Zeiss CMM'S.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet the requirements listed below that are representative of the experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required..
Professional acceptance of responsibilities and quality of work
Five years minimum experience as an inspector using CMM’s.
Experience setting up, programming, and running a CMM ( Zeiss – Calyspso )
Comfortable using CAD files.
Advanced Blueprint Reading skills, for interpretation of drawings, notes, revisions, GD&T, tolerances, symbols, etc.
Math skills sufficient to calculate angles, feature locations, tolerances, etc.
Read and understand specifications, procedures, etc.
Strong working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
A strong mathematical and analytical problem solving skill set.
Candidate should be a clear communicator with an aptitude for learning and constant improvement.
Team player able to work with others and provide guidance when appropriate.
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.
SUMMARY:
This position inspects precision-machined parts for First Article, In-process, and other requirements such as outside processes and verification of subcontract machine parts. It also provides inspection results to manufacturing and other departments upon request.
