Workrite Ergonomics, Inc., a leader in the manufacture and distribution of ergonomic office products and height-adjustable workstations, seeks a competent high performer to join our team as we grow the business.
Position Summary: Under minimal supervision, performs standard purchasing tasks to procure assigned supplies, equipment, materials, parts and services for support of operational requirements. Works within established procedures to procure items consistent with price, quantity and delivery specifications. Contacts vendors to obtain prices and delivery commitments. Expedites critical orders. Develops sources for assigned standard items. Maintains vendor list, files and catalog library. May prepare standard Requests for Quotation. Assists Purchasing Manager in reviewing quotations before award for price, delivery and quantity. Coordinates purchasing details with vendor, including pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, back orders, delivery date revisions, invoice discrepancies.
Skills Required:
• Ability to read and write English proficiently
• Minimum 3 years experience in purchasing
• Experience with MRP/ERP Database Systems
• Must be computer literate (PC) and proficient in software applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are musts
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to interact effectively with others at every level of the organization
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as thrive in a team-based environment
• High degree of professionalism, initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving ability
• Ability to take ownership of issues, engage the appropriate audience and drive the issues to closure
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Manufacturing, Management, Engineering, outside vendors)
• Ability to easily adapt to rapid changes and a fast paced, high-energy environment
• Strong ability to multi-task and effectively handle multiple situations at one time
• Focus and commitment to continuous improvement in daily activities
Essential Job Functions:
• Analyze, recommend and make cost effective purchases by understanding usage, MOQ, safety stock levels, pricing and freight
• Issue Purchase Orders within 24 hours of approved requisition
• Ensure Purchase Order confirmation is received within 48 hours and is reviewed, verified and filed
• Reschedule purchase/job orders based upon the needs of the business
• Assist Finance with Purchase Order and Invoice discrepancies; troubleshoot and implement corrective actions
• Ensure orders are received on time. Communicate late arrivals and track to ensure the best delivery time with respect to cost
• Minimize inventory investment through the use of statistical and planning tools
• Manage consigned inventory at supplier/sub-contractor sites
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Work with Quality Manager to resolve discrepant material
• Work closely with production to ensure the supply of the right amount of material at the right time
