We are a biomedical/biological sciences equipment manufacturing company that specializes in the manufacturing and assembly of high quality composites. We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our Santa Clara facility.
SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains various manufacturing equipment such as: lathes, mills, presses, air compressors, hand tools, pumps, ovens, and hydraulics. Person will also be in charge of the grounds duties which follow periodic schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Troubleshoots hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical systems on various machines with guidance
* Maintains and services equipment on a scheduled interval. (i.e.: oil changes, filter changes, fluid level, and greasing grease points)
* Sets up and operates maintenance equipment
* Assists other Mechanics in various repair jobs
* Repairs/evaluates & performs PM and/or replaces defective parts on equipment
* Inspects used parts and tools to determine tooling wear
* Other maintenance duties
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have a great positive hard working attitude
* Must be familiar with basic hand tools
* Must be familiar with mechanical fasteners and other common hardware.
* Must know or be familiar with at least 5 of the following: welding, general machine shop equipment, sheet metal fabrication, refrigeration systems, electrical motors and their operation, compressed air systems, plumbing, light carpentry, electrical trouble shooting and the electrical components of machines (i.e. contactor, resistor, relays, breakers, switches), and/or painting
*forklift driving capabilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED; and two years related experience and/or training in the mechanical field are required. Must have electrical/mechanical experience.
