Future US is seeking an experienced and creative Executive Editor to help craft, develop, manage and maintain the production of PC Gamer magazine. This position reports to the E-I-C and is senior member of the editorial team on the magazine.
Responsibilities will include:
Generate feature ideas for the magazine or website
Help ensure the magazine stays on message and delivers on its editorial strategy
Be fully aware of the state of the magazine in its production cycle and help ensure it stays on track
Edit copy and pages in progress where necessary
Build relationships with the industry and contributors
Secure exclusives for the magazine wherever possible
Help develop the other team members so they can more effectively contribute to the magazine
The ideal candidate will be deeply interested and have deep connections in the gaming industry and a comprehensive understanding of the culture. There must be an extreme attention to detail, rabid organizational passion and the ability to meet deadlines every time.
Education and Experience:
The ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple stories, projects and schedules.
BA or BS is required, preferably in journalism or creative writing.
3 to 5 years editorial experience in the gaming or entertainment industry.
