Marketing Content Writer
This position is 40 hours per week for 3 months with potential to be extended based on business need.
The Marketing Content Writer is responsible for generating, maintaining and reviewing the written content for the marketing department. This person is responsible for all content on the Academy’s main website, marketing materials, letter templates, and marketing e-mail initiatives. This position requires an ability to create written materials that are professional, succinct, and convey the Academy tone. This person will perform a variety of projects for multiple departments with tight deadlines.
- Create email blast, letters, and various other collateral copy.
- Review, edit, and re-write current web content.
- Conduct interviews and write articles Academy of Art University’s website
- Write press releases using search engine optimization (SEO)
- Review and prepare writing from outside sources
- Work with Interactive Media team to write content for external vendor sites
- Provide input for TV and Radio ad scripts
- Monitor press for news about Academy of Art University
Requirements:
- Experience writing for a marketing, public relations, or business-related department is required.
- Must have exceptional written communication skills and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AP and Chicago styles.
- Ability to work within a team and with other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority projects at once is a must.
- Experience with web content management systems and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Search engine optimization experience and knowledge strongly desired.
- Must be available to work onsite; involves some weekend/nights for event coverage
