Product Content Editor
We are looking for a product writer to work out of our San Francisco office and manage the delivery product-related content creation across all of our leading public safety-focused sites. We are seeking to provide comprehensive product information and features to an audience of first responders (think of it as CNET.com for public safety), and we need someone with a genuine interest in product editorial who can implement new ideas and processes for generating consistent product content. The ideal candidate is an aggressive self-starter with two to four years experience writing about products, who can learn quickly and come up with specific, creative solutions to content challenges. Candidate should have very strong communications skills, a background in online media, and experience working with companies, marketers and writers.
Key qualifications include an interest in products and gadgets; exceptional attention to detail; technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new applications; the ability to write high quality content; strong editing skills; and an interest in learning about public safety professionals and their content needs. The candidate should have a good working knowledge of HTML.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations
- 2-4 years practical marketing or editorial experience in an online (preferred) or print role
- Interest in and knowledge of products and gadgets (police/fire/EMS product knowledge a big plus)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Very organized with strong skills in coordination and scheduling
- An editorial eye and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience working with sales, marketing and editorial personnel
- Computer/technical savvy, including a knowledge of HTML and understanding of CMS and web publishing tools
- Capability to view content and write from a public safety perspective
Job Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with our editorial team, client services teams and our advertisers
- Generate high volume of product focused content
- Quickly gain an understanding of public safety products; stay informed about product advancements and trends
- Be independently resourceful in identifying content sources
and potential contributors
- Engage members of the public safety community to increase content base and drive reviews
- Create high-quality web layout for product articles and special features
- Assemble product-related email newsletters
