Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting professional with experience in journalism, independent investment research, financial services or public policy to join our growing team as a Manager of Independent Investment Research and Client Services.
Specific duties would include:
-- Recruitment, development and management of the Public Insight Analyst Network, made up of regulatory, policy, and investment experts at the state, local and federal level.
--Facilitation and coordination of client consultations with Analyst Network members.
--Quality assurance of research products and analyst output.
--Day-to-day client-service management, as well as design of client satisfaction surveys, data capture, and feedback processes and tools.
--Writing of internal and external research newsletters, alerts, and other proprietary research products developed by Public Insight.
--Planning and coordination of symposia, roundtables and other events for clients and prospective clients with key network members on regulatory and legislative issues of concern and timely relevance to the institutional investor community.
--Development of new research products and offerings.
--Research support for sales and business development team, including briefings on prospective clients' regulatory exposure, and other customized research requests from the client service and business development team. Participation in client sales calls as required.
Necessary Skills
Applicants should have:
--Excellent working knowledge of policy and regulatory developments and issues of concern to institutional investors.
--Exceptional communication, research, organizational, and writing skills.
--Broad networks in and access to regulatory, policy, legal, economic, and financial thought leaders.
--Minimum of two to three years experience in: journalism, sell-side or buy-side investment research, and/or regulatory, economic, and public policy research through legal, lobbying or government affairs firms, government services, political campaigns, and/or or related organizations.
--A can-do, dynamic, self-starting personality, as well as the capacity and the desire to interact with and cultivate long-term business relationships with senior financial services executives, traders, investment research analysts, and leading public-sector figures nationally.
An attractive compensation plan along with bonus incentives will be offered to the right candidate. This position is based in Berkeley, California.
