Future Plus, a division of Future US (www.futureus.com), is seeking an experienced Editor-in-Chief to lead the creation of regular newsletters and associated multimedia consumer-facing marketing content covering BlackBerry smartphone hardware and software. Applicants should be well versed in BlackBerry technology and be able to work with minimal oversight. Ideally, applicants will have knowledge of and experience working with BlackBerry back-end hardware (BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Mobile Voice System) and/or end-user applications, and have experience leading advertising and marketing content creation for clients in the tech field.

As a fully-integrated media company, Future Plus produces marketing and consumer-oriented materials across a variety of media formats, ranging from magazines and catalogs to DVDs and Web sites for some of the world’s biggest brands. Although we don’t expect candidates to have experience in every media type, we are nevertheless looking for people who can show us superlative examples of their work across at least two consumer, advertising or marketing-oriented media types.

This is a full-time position that reports to the Editorial Director.

Responsibilities:
• Lead editorial direction and vision and create successful, innovative design solutions for potential and existing clients.
• Quality control. Ensure that all current content is produced to the highest quality and meets the client’s requirements.
• Development. Work with the Editorial Director and Art Director to ensure that content is constantly assessed and challenged to deliver cutting edge quality and client satisfaction.
• Recruitment. Identify the Editorial recruitment needs of Future Plus and work with the Editorial Director to solve them.

Working Practices:
• Work with writers/freelancers to ensure they understand deadlines, deliverables and project needs.
• When temporary staff is required, ensure that they are briefed and directed efficiently and cost-effectively either by yourself or delegated staff.
• Ensure correct use of in-house systems.
• Ensure all projects and tasks are correctly organized, documented and administered and that they are delivered on deadline.

Communication & Development:
• Keep the senior management informed of actions and events. Engage in regular meetings on the successes and opportunities and make recommendations to help improve or streamline general operations.
• Encourage and realise market and design awareness.
• Develop freelance contacts of worth and always be on the lookout for new and upcoming talent.
