Overview:
Linden Lab is looking for a Senior Scalability Engineer to play a key role in scaling the operational technologies behind Second Life. They will design and develop scalable and modular web services that are easy to deploy, manage, and monitor, and that will form the underpinnings of the next generation of our internal server architecture. We especially like candidates who can use a history in open source projects to demonstrate an ability to write clean, testable code and work collaboratively in a complex environment.

Responsibilities:
* Design and develop back end data services that provide low latency and high throughput.
* Review designs and code written by other engineers.
* Act as a mentor to junior developers.

Qualifications:
* Python networking development experience required (3+ years).
* Knowledge of relevant protocols (e.g. HTTP, WSGI, REST) strongly preferred.
* Experience with server-side technologies such as Apache and Django.
* Familiarity with databases such as MySQL.
* C++, STL, and Boost experience preferred.

Education and Experience:
* Bachelors in Computer science and 4 years experience, or equivalent.
