Zynga is seeking an experienced data guru for analysis of our user data. This candidate will work with the Platforms team to help study online behavior of our users. The position involves developing automated tools to identify and study user behavior. The person will also present findings to business owners to help design, develop and optimize our games to improve user experience and revenue. The candidate will provide guidance on collecting additional data essential for tracking patterns in user behavior. It is important that the candidate enjoy working with people, as well as performing technical analyses.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Statistical techniques to build intelligent tools
• Several years of quantitative analytic work experience including manipulation and analysis of large data sets
• Skilled SQL query writer with working knowledge of database structures
• Ability to program in R or other statistical languages helpful
• Knowledge of Hadoop/HBase, Map/Reduce and Voldemort preferred
• Ability to execute research projects, and translate the results into operational or analytical solutions to problems
• Knowledge of some Unix script language preferred (Perl, PHP, Awk, Sed etc.)
• Good client management skills with strong grasp of business principals
• Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel while managing and meeting changing deadlines and priorities
• Experience handling, manipulating and analyzing data
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to document work and effectively prioritize documentation
• Ability to balance technical and business perspectives
• Ability to work in an individual and/or team setting
• Advanced Excel knowledge preferred
