The Institute of Reading Development is an educational service provider that teaches developmental reading programs to students ranging from four years old through adulthood. Each year, the Institute teaches more than 100,000 students in partnership with colleges, universities, municipal agencies, and school districts throughout the United States.
To fill an expanding need we are seeking to hire a full time Web Developer/Programmer to assist us in improving our internet presence. We are seeking an individual that has experience regarding usability and functional design. They will also participate in development of new web based initiatives.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have an BS degree in Computer Science, or comparable experience. Candidates require the following:
Ability to hand-code W3C Compliant XHTML 1.0 Strict markup
Professional standards-compliant proficiency with CSS and Javascript
Expertise in cross-browser compatibility development and testing
Experience with UI best practices and visual design principles
Desirable Qualifications
Sharepoint Experience
Familiarity with AJAX and its implementation
Experience using Javascript libraries such as jQuery
Experience with Active Server Pages and .NET using C# or Visual Basic
Experience with Photoshop for general image manipulation
Primary Responsibilities
Provide web solutions to Marketing and Curriculum
UI design for ages 7 through adult
Delivery of Marketing and Curriculum web pages

This is a full-time, year round position located at the Institute's national headquarters in Novato, CA.
