Part-Time (10-30 hrs per week) Web Programmer/Developer at Marketing Agency
San Jose, CA, $25 per hr + project rate (approx $30-$35 per hr)
Our client is a premier marketing agency specializing in web design and internet marketing for a variety of companies. They focus on cutting-edge, high quality, emerging design solutions that create bottom line results.
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Programmer. In this role, you’ll report directly to the President of this small, but fast-growing agency. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and talented programming student with a good amount of existing experience to enhance their skills or for a self-employed/freelance programmer to add a client to their roster with a consistent flow of work.
You’ll work on a 1099 and be paid in a combination of an hourly rate for web mastering duties (approx 10 – 15 hrs per week) and on a project rate for development work (approx 2-5 projects per month). The project rate is based on an estimated hourly rate of $30-35 per hour, with more proficient programmers able to complete projects in a shorter amount of time and thus averaging a higher hourly rate.
The job:
•The right candidate can transform any given Photoshop file into fully functional website, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash.
•You’ll respond to client requests for website updates/maintenance within 24 hrs.
You are/have:
•A minimum of 3 years experience in web development, managing multiple projects simultaneously with little supervision.
•Proven proficiency in: HTML/CSS, JavaScript/Ajax, Flash, PHP, Photoshop.
•Experience with Search Engine Optimization.
•Able to integrate third-party software (email marketing, live chat, online forums) into your development.
•Possess a strong attention to detail (to the pixel); your work never needs revising or double-checking.
•Dead-line oriented, self-motivated and self-directed. You don’t need to be reminded about deadlines and pending action items; you are on it.
•Excellent communication skills (both orally and written). You are confident in dealing with clients’ over the phone and via email and are great at communicating to your manager and clients the status of on-going projects.
•Highly accessible Monday through Friday during normal business hours (you preferably are addicted to your Blackberry, iPhone etc. and respond to email within the hour).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB: This is part-time/1099 position. The hours are flexible, but candidates must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexibility to scale up to 30 hours a week when the work is high volume. Candidates also need to be accessible/available a few hours during normal business hours Monday through Friday to respond to client requests and to be brought up to speed by the owner of agency on upcoming projects. Once acclimated, the majority of this work can be done virtually.
