SwimOutlet.com is a leading online retailer for swimwear and swimgear. We are seeking an energetic, creative, and resourceful designer to fulfill critical website, web advertising, and email production functions. You need both creative and technical skills to handle the work.
This candidate is instrumental in working closely with Marketing to build and maintain all e-marketing materials. You will be working under the direction of the CMO in a small team and fast-paced environment. Accuracy and completeness are critical, as are flexibility and the ability to work on a schedule. Because this designer will have a strong eye for design, he/she will also have print related projects from time to time.
This candidate must instinctively take ownership of projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Support the creative initiatives of the Marketing Department’s promotional calendar
- Create concepts that communicate key ideas, products and promotions - and sell!
- Establishing a front-end design that is unique in terms of branding and sophistication yet in synch with the overall design of the SwimOutlet brand
- Design new mockup web pages to illustrate the nature of the experience.
- Ensure usability, interface design and interaction design standards are adhered to and applied throughout all e-commerce tactics
- Maintain knowledge of current trends, color and technology relevant to web and graphic design
- Assist on other projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related degree
- Expert Knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, PC Platform
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Demonstrated expertise in page layout, graphic design
- Ability to take creative direction and work with other designers to incorporate branding
- Outstanding typographic skills is a must
- Print Experience
- Detail-oriented
- Have self-motivation and detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The curiosity to innovate
- Portfolio showing cutting edge graphical design work
- Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to work on multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment, meeting tight deadlines, and reacting quickly and smoothly to changes
Additional Pluses:
- Retail experience
- 1-2 years experience in interactive marketing design, preferably working on email marketing programs and/or e-commerce sites
