Visual Media Designer/ Content Manager

As Media Manager, you would be responsible for selecting and managing all the digital assets for the company, as well as creating new assets from scratch as necessary. You would be the go-to person for making sure that our visual assets are as high quality as our written content.

Creativity is the key requirement, coupled with an awareness of business and marketing considerations. You must be highly self-motivated, detail-focused and results-driven, with proven team leadership skills. It is vitally important that the candidate we select is proactive about keeping abreast of technology trends, competitive products and innovations across the web.

Required Qualifications
• Excellent time management, organization and problem-solving skill
o You will work under intense real time deadlines- must be willing to work with flexible schedule, including early mornings and Sundays as necessary
• The communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all disciplines
• Proficiency with adobe CS4 applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver)
• Experience using Wordpress
• Outstanding design vision/sensibility
• Intensely interested in all types of technology (aka the content we cover)

Additional Skills might include:
• Video editing experience a plus
• Knowledge of html/ CSS and web compatibility

Responsibilities would include:
• Finding and managing video, photos and other digital assets to supplement our content and provide a unique, cohesive web content experience for our sites
• Creating charts or digital visual assets from scratch as necessary
• Managing the company’s printed assets
• Coordinating and working with external designers and consultants on projects as necessary
• Creating animated and static ads, including the design for site wide takeovers
• Managing and track changes and ensure that all projects are complete on time

Experience:
• BA in Design (or equivalent), at least 2-3 years work experience

Availability and Compensation:
• This is a full time with the expectation to work out of GigaOM’s San Francisco office
