Primary Function of Position:
Assists with maintaining daily operations of the facility and Environmental compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC
· Performs troubleshooting of systems
· Performs other skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures
· Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process
· Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary
· Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches
· Cross trains other facilities technicians
· Involved as representative on Safety Committee.
Skill/Job Requirements:
· 10+ years of experience
· Proficiency with hand tools and computer systems a must
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with management, inside customers and external vendors
· Ability to apply good judgment work independently and lead other facilities technicians
· Strong service-minded attitude
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and tasks
· Knowledge of hazardous material handling/ waste generation.
· The preferred candidate will also have knowledge of environmental regulations, Bio hazard waste handling and OSHA regulations and compliance.
