Job Summary:

NOTE: The University of California Regents are considering implementing pay reductions, furloughs and/or other types of measures due to the state budget crisis. This position would be subject to any cost cutting measures implemented at UCSF.

This position will report to the Information Security Policy and Program Manager as a Security Analyst in the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) department; the incumbent will work closely with other members within EIS to assist in e-discovery and computer forensics activities; and perform other duties as assigned. Note: Position to end June 30, 2010.

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS from an accredited University and a minimum of three years of information security experience, preferably in an academic, medical or research environment; demonstrated experience with e-Discovery and computer forensics, preferably in an academic environment; experience in the use of computer forensics tools such as Encase, FTK, etc.; solid understanding of information security requirements and legal responsibilities of an academic institution; experience in developing procedures and documentation for e-discovery and forensics activities; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Note: Fingerprinting and background check required.

Preferred Qualifications:

BA/BS in computer related field from an accredited University, preferably in privacy and legal aspects of information technology; experience with HIPAA, SB1386 and FERPA, preferably in an academic environment; experience in computer forensics and e-Discovery for litigation purposes; demonstrated system administration experience on a variety of platforms including *nix, OS X and Windows; demonstrated experience in programming and scripting, such as in C/C++, Java, Perl, awk, sed; ability to use Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
