Cryptic Studios, the leading developer of massively multiplayer online games, is looking for a Network Engineer. This position, reporting to the director of game operations, will be repsonsible for designing and implementing networks to support Cryptic's next generation of MMOs. Every day you could be:

Develop, deploy, and support implementation plans for network elements
Provide technical design and for deployments as needed
Analyze and provide recommendations on performance, high availability and network security
Proactively monitor and manage Datacenter environments
Be on a rotational on-call schedule for network emergency response
Support Cryptic Studios proprietary core applications

Required Qualifications:


Desire to learn and integrate real world experience into a solution
Genuine interest in Networking outside of job scope
Ability to quickly learn and support Cryptic Studios proprietary applications
Minimum of 8 years of network or administration experience in support of medium to large IP/Telecom service provider or equipment vendor networks
Knowledge of OSPF, BGP route policy, traffic shaping, ACLs and regular expressions
Hands-on experience working with network elements (switches, routers, test equipment and tools)
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Solid knowledge of Window server systems and systems security
Experience Authoring documentation, tech notes and procedures using Visio and MS Office
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on effective documentation
Ability to travel (up to 5%)
Cisco CCNA
BS degree (or equivalent experience of 5 or more years in Information Technology with emphasis on routing, switching and network security)
San Francisco Bay Area Resident or willing to relocate
US Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications:


Cisco CCNP/CCIE or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS
Experience with Force10 and HP routers and switches
Knowledge of a scripting language, preferably Perl, VB and Shell
Experience with network management tools
Experience server deployment / management / virtual
Datacenter design and implementation
Experience deploying server applications in a Windows and Linux environment
Experience with creating or supporting programmatic control of network devices
Experience in LAN/WAN/WAP security
Game industry network operations experience
