Description:
Summary: Responsible for the coordination and completion of IT technology projects. Oversees all aspects of projects assigned. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. The Technical Project Manager will prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. Must be familiar with a wide variety of IT infrastructure concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be capable of performs a variety of tasks within the project scope. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned.

Evaluate project goals and decompose projects into scope, objective, approach and plan. Ensure alignment between project objective, project sponsor and ultimately the project as delivered.

Communicate project method and lead project resources to achieve the project goal within project constraints, (scope, resources (people & capital), time).

Monitor progress against plan, flag exceptions or risks and prepare corrective actions in response to project limiting events. Adjust plan as required. Accountable for managing project budgets and variance to budget reporting to IT Management.

Provide leadership and insight into technical projects that supporting the CIO’s overall technical strategic plan. Research technology industry to stay current with technical options as they relate to Jackson Enterprise projects. Prepare project and technology cost benefit analysis to assist establishing Program Office and IT Department priorities. Assists with the development of Program Office and IT Department Capital budgets.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise project resources as assigned to projects. Provide relevant feedback to line managers and supervisors.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office and networking architectures.

Requires 4 to 7 years experience with information technology networking, servers and enterprise class server systems (preferably IBM iSeries).

Requires experience with eCommerce, ERP and Business Intelligence systems and/or implementation projects.
