Telespree has pioneered a self-service platform that automates service enrollment and programming, account management, and advertising on wireless devices for mobile carriers resulting in significant cost savings, improved end-user experience and increased distribution flexibility. We are looking for a creative self-starter to join our operations team. You will be working on new technology for provisioning, activating, and servicing millions of mobile devices.


Position: Systems Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
+ Primary responsibilities include release management
- Build and deploy applications for QA and production
- Document deployment procedures for production releases
- Report bugs discovered during build and deployment
+ Administer internal development and QA systems
+ Install and maintain new applications to support engineering team
+ Configure and maintain internal monitoring systems
+ Provide feedback to engineers regarding design of application in relation to production deployment
+ Management and monitoring of production systems
+ Assist in debugging and troubleshooting J2EE applications
+ Design, implement, and troubleshoot network environments
+ Manage and improve internal backup infrastructure
+ Administer production SS7 platforms on Solaris 10

Experience/Skills Desired:
* At least 3 years experience in Linux administration (Red Hat/CentOS preferred)
* At least 3 years experience in PERL and/or BASH scripting (Ruby a plus)
* At least 1 year experience administration of J2EE application servers (WebLogic preferred)
* Experience building applications with Ant and/or Maven
* Experience using and administering a version sontrol system (Perforce a plus)
* Strong understanding of server architectures and server performance bottlenecks
* Strong understanding of networking concepts
* Experience with Oracle or other RDBMS
* Experience using and deploying performance monitoring and management tools such as Nagios, Cacti, etc.
* Experience writing and/or debugging Java code
* BA/BS in CS or related field, or equivalent experience
* Proven record of being proactive in seeking and implementing new technologies and software that improve current platforms
* Excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills are required
* Experience with Solaris 9 and above a plus
