This location has good parking and the best public transportation facilities in the Bay Area including BART, Cal Train, the Express Bus terminal, car pool drop-offs, etc, not to mention being able to catch the occasional game at AT&T Park and our scenic views.
Position Description
The Sr. Software Engineer works closely with technical product manager, program manager and quality assurance team and will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing features for GoGrid product and service. He/she You will also be responsible for understanding customer needs, debugging complex application issues that customers may face and responding to customers with rapid enhancements to the product
Job Duties
• As a member of the core virtualization team, contribute to the design and implementation of features for Grid control system
• Responsible for implementing the framework to create Windows images and bundle applications
• Create and maintain unit test suite
• Mentor junior developers
• Work wth systems administrators to build staging and development environments
• Contribute to architecture roadmaps to support the future growth of the service
• Create design document and give technical presentations
• Work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
• Additional duties as required from a small, fast growing Internet company
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years work experience and highly competitive C, Java, and Python skills
• Experience with virtualization technology such as Xen/KVM
• Experience with system provisioning and automation
• Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, etc
• Good communication skills
• Windows system administrative experience
• Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with high performance high available software service development
• Experience with agile and iterative development process
