Position Description
Immediate opportunity for a talented software engineer to join a team of software engineers, architects, and virtualization experts on developing GoGrid, a new grid hosting platform that allows you to deploy and manage your multi-tier Internet infrastructure on demand through Web Interface or API. Working with project manager, product manager, QA, and releasing engineering team, this individual has the depth and breadth to understand the technical details while maintaining an ability to think strategically to help make decisions to meet company objectives.
Job Duties
• Design, write, and review code.
• Create and maintain unit test suite.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Work closely with release engineers on the development of code releases.
• Contribute to architecture roadmaps to support the future growth of the service.
• Create design document and give technical presentations.
• Work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
• Additional duties as required from a small, fast growing Internet company.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years work experience and highly competitive Java and Python skills
• Experience with messaging middleware JMS, MSMQ, and high performance/high available service oriented architecture (SOA)
• RDBMS, SQL, and transactions
• Experience with virtualization technology such as Xen/KVM
• Experience with system programming
• Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, etc
• Good communication skills
• Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
• Unix system administrative experience
• Experience with agile and iterative development process
