Position Description
The Quality Assurance Manager works closely with technical product manager, program manager and software development team and will be responsible for quality of the GoGrid product and service.
Job Duties
• Hands-on involvement in all areas of Quality Management: processes, test plan and test case creation, bug tracking lifecycle, test automation, and performance testing.
• Strong collaboration and partnership with other engineering teams to influence engineering best practices and infuse quality throughout the development life cycle.
• Assign both onshore and offshore resources to QA projects and be a technical lead for the QA team.
• Ensure the product lifecycle process meets the quality criteria.
• Monitor QA progress/status and communicate the project risk to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Collect and analyze quality data and seek ways to continuously improve the quality of our products and services.
• Motivate team to see the big picture and cross geographical boundaries to gain context and understand the product.
• Remain accessible to team in off hours to help remove roadblocks, especially remote teams that would otherwise lose an entire shift.
• Additional duties as required from a small, fast growing Internet company.
Required Qualifications
• Extensive experience in leading an onshore-offshore team. The ability to hire, motivate, lead, and mentor a remote team. Possess an excellent end-to-end understanding of QA processes, organization and techniques in order to drive the creation of relevant and detailed test plans. S/he must also posses the ability to anticipate organizational and technical issues, and the ability to provide executive management with detailed projections and post-mortems.
• Experience with delivering products such as web application, server software, and system software. Good understanding of networking, storage, and system administration.
• Ability to develop and validate test plans and priorities that are efficient and effective. Ability to generate precise and concise test metrics and measures of quality, and the ability to project, track, assess and report on adherence to these metrics.
• +3 years experience working with development teams using agile/iterative development methods.
• Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with virtualization technology such as Xen/KVM is a plus.
• Experience with the architecture, testing and quality of high volume, real-time transactional systems.
