Our exciting East Bay client seeks a VB .NET software developer to assist in the development of new applications. In this role, you will create and manage Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 stored procedures, test application software to assure accuracy, integrity, completeness to achieve desired results, recognize processing/programming inefficiencies, and recommend improvements. You will work closely with end users to make them aware of updates and changes on their software.
This position requires 4+ years of Visual Basic .NET experience in developing applications for client/server environment and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent work experience and/or technical training. One must have prior experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 / 2008, a strong understanding of object-oriented development principles, and an understanding of client/server technology, server architecture, and networking protocols. Experience in designing applications for mobile devices would be a plus. The ability to analyze logically and creatively to identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions to business problems, conduct training sessions for employees in using applications, and work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Our client seeks a professional with solid analytical skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people.
