The Global Sourcing Manager - IT Infrastructure position is an individual contributor role responsible for negotiating, drafting, administering and managing the full range of domestic and global commercial contracts associated with the procurement of IT-related goods and services including hardware, software, related support and IT professional services. Responsibilities include working closely with all levels of client groups and suppliers as well as internal Finance and Legal Departments resulting in strategic supplier relationships that achieve cost-effective procurement decisions for the company. The GSM may also manage the overall business-to-business relationships between Apple and the supplier ensuring the best leverage of company dollars and will conduct supplier reviews.
Requirements:
• Documented senior-level experience in software licensing and hardware procurement. Telecom experience is also preferred.
• Exceptional negotiation experience, knowledge of standard procurement practices, knowledge of contracts, diplomacy, and ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
• Able to lead all aspects of supplier negotiations, including contract terms, pricing and performance management.
• Utilizes RFI (Request for Information), RFP (Request for Proposal), and RFQ (Request for Quote) techniques to identify, select, and engage with suppliers to ensure competitive market advantage. Directs and implements supplier-sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on time delivery and cost competitiveness.
• Implements proactive procurement philosophies, strategies, policies, procedures, and systems. Successfully integrates Statements of Work into Contracts in order to leverage spend and reduce costs. The Technology GSM influences cross-functional organizations while enhancing strong internal relationships in order to meet business requirements and cost objectives.
• Takes an innovative approach to business relationships and structures to yield best value for the company. Thinks through process and relationship scenarios and advises internal business groups on value-added approaches to supply base solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have current knowledge of IT commodities.
• Able to maintain perspective and confidence in face of difficult contract negotiations, tight deadlines and client expectations.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree plus 5-10 years experience or MA/MS/MBA degree plus 5-7 years experience, or equivalent. Software licensing experience is required.
