Our client provides a high-availability platform for the ingestion, encoding, management, tracking, streaming, monetization and distribution of media assets. They deliver over 1 billion multimedia assets annually, and serve more than 50 million web services hits per month. This company provides a proprietary dynamic application platform for the secure delivery of multimedia assets in context-dependent environments. Current clients include: MLB, VH-1, T-Mobile, Sony, AAA, Edmunds, Dogster, Flixster, WebMD, Purina, Autobytel, Manheim, Diablo Media, TNT, North American Media Group, Friendster, Monster Media Worldwide and many others.
 
The development environment relies on Flash, Flex, C#, ASP, .NET, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft workflow, XML, SCXML, FMS, AS2, AS3, and the Adobe OSMF. Our client provides integration with several major advertising platforms, content delivery networks, e-commerce gateways, encoding software platforms, and third-party tracking and analytics technologies.
 
The Candidate
 
Successful candidates will have 5+ years of experience in delivering commercial code for high-availability environments. They must have a clear understanding of the design and use of web services, including security. They must understand how to build applications which will be performant under heavy load, and have specific experience in coding such applications, based on a specific technical specification, through release.

Significant experience with C#, ASP, and .NET is ABSOLUTELY required, and experience with IIS, Flash or FMS is strongly preferred, as is experience with AS2 or AS3. Other desirable qualities include mobile experience, and experience with REST and SOAP API’s. Commercial SDK experience is a plus.

This company uses an Agile, sprint-based development approach, designed around 2-week sprints. Successful candidates must be able to deliver consistently at a high level of quality in an extremely fast-paced environment. Prior startup experience is strongly preferred, as is strong experience on small teams, preferably as a lead engineer. Experience, passion, and knowledge of multimedia applications is strongly encouraged and preferred.
