A qualified candidate for this position should have 5+ years experience in software design and development using Java, J2EE and related frameworks. You should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of design patterns, principles of good software architecture and software engineering. You should also have experience developing one or more products through all phases of the software development life cycle and should be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Experience in the design, development and implementation of large-scale multi-tiered java applications is needed.
Your diverse responsibilities will include:
• Designing, implementing, and unit testing server-side JEE/Java code.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including meetings, iterative development, estimations and design sessions.
• Working with Product Manager to understand the customer needs.
• Delivering Coding assignments on time, within budget and with high quality.
• Collaborating with other Software Engineers in designing and implementing integrated solutions.
The ideal candidate will have all or nearly all of these qualifications:
• A degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
• At least seven years experience in professional software development in a team setting, ideally including multiple locations
• Very good knowledge technologies such as JDK, Java Server Pages (JSP), JMS, JBOSS, Hibernate, Struts, Spring Framework and JDBC
• Very good understanding of SQL, Data Modeling, and MySQL or Oracle
• Thorough knowledge of Eclipse and Ant
• Thorough understanding of team software engineering and quality assurance processes
• Good written and in-person communication skills
• Experience with Web-based distributed software systems
• Experience with Linux, Apache, and relational databases
• Understanding of distributed security is desirable
• Familiarity with localization/internationalization is desirable
