PSS Systems is seeking a seasoned and highly professional writer to lead the creation of all user documentation for the Atlas Suite.

Project Scope:
PSS has an immediate opening for a great documentation writer to lead the creation of all user guides. The writer will also be expected to act as the project leader and will work on all phases of documentation development from information gathering, research, and interviewing, to writing and editing. It is critically important that the writer is willing to ask questions in the interest of learning what is important and relevant, as they will be expected to go beyond leveraging existing content and other materials. The primary information inputs will be previously created training materials, extensive technical documentation, interviews with subject matter experts, and working directly with the software.
Deliverable:
- 6 Word documents - 1 for each product module ˇV covering Atlas LCC, Atlas for IT, ERM, DCF, Employee Self Service Module, and platform components (Enterprise Map, the MyAtlas dashboard and Law Library). Because of the complexity and maturity of the applications, each document will be between 40-50 pages of content.
- Each document will cover all users for each product (Legal, Records, IT, custodians/business users and administrators) and will detail the core process flows and button usage through narrative descriptions and illustrated by screen shots.
- Each document will follow a standard template/presentation of information and will be consistent with existing training materials and help files.
- Each document will be ˇ§publishing readyˇ¨ and will include all graphics, covers, and other necessary information within the final deliverable.
- Contract writer will provide services on-site using their own computer and software. An instance of the Atlas Applications, populated with appropriate data, will be provided for reference during standard working hours.
- Documents will undergo three formal review cycles with representatives from Engineering, Training and Marketing and the final products will pass final sign-off and acceptance from the VP of Marketing.
Timeframe:
We anticipate that this is a three-month engagement.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum five years' experience developing user documentation for enterprise applications
- Strong skills writing for non-technical users and ability to take the ˇ§end userˇ¨ perspective
- Prior background being the sole writer in a large documentation project
- Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and PowerPoint, HTML, Screen Capturing tools (SnagIT), and Diagram Editing Software (such Adobe Illustration)
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments, including: marketing, engineering and professional services
