We are expanding our core team with candidates that are bright, self-motivated, leads who are expert core Java developers with strong computer science foundation.
Currently, we are helping a major web company develop their next generation platform written in core Java from the ground up due to very high volume needs. This consulting position requires someone to be onsite for 40 hours/week in San Francisco area.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, architect, implement and document platform, infrastructure and application code written in core Java
Define and lead the implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software applications hosted on the web
Effectively interact with clients very senior software engineers/architects to design and develop additional platform, infrastructure and application code
Requirements:
Very strong core Java skills; irresistible urge to create efficient code and optimize it even more (be prepared to write code during the interview)
10+ years of large scale, full lifecycle development experience and at least 3 years as a lead engineer, preferably at a high-volume web company
7+ years using and developing in core Java
Experience working with other organizations such as Operations, Load & Performance, Security, Build/Release, QA and Training
Experience in distributed multi-tier systems
Solid Experience using W2K and UNIX/Linux
Solid knowledge of XML, HTTP/HTML, Servlets, XSLT
Extensive experience developing frameworks or other infrastructure code that other developers will use
Extensive experience in designing and implementing large server software with particular attention to security, scalability and high performance
Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus
Spring / Hibernate expertise required
Very Strong Plus:
Strong Tapestry Experience
Open source development and/or interaction with Open Source projects/people.
Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
