The Data Loss Prevention solutions strengthen and complement Symantecs existing portfolio of endpoint, network and storage products and have already shown enormous growth and success as a new business unit within Symantec. Symantec Data Loss Prevention solutions lead the market with technology that discovers, monitors and protects confidential data to help organizations ensure public confidence, demonstrate compliance and maintain competitive advantage. Symantec Data Loss Prevention customers include many of the world's largest and most data-driven enterprises and government agencies.
Responsibilities
DLP's Test Automation and Tools team is looking for a SQA engineer who can take initiative on tool and test framework (test harness) design and development, test case automation, and the maintenance.
In order to be able to understand and test the complexities and the subtleties in the product, the SQA automation engineer is expected to work closely with the product developers. This includes participating in the product development cycle, reviewing and debugging production code, and running and analyzing the results of code analysis tools.
The SQA automation engineer is also expected to be a team leader in the QA team, which requires training other engineers, providing and validating estimates, and understanding QA relevant metrics.
We need people who want to make a difference and understand the importance of good QA.
Needs to have skills of a Grade A SQA automation engineer. Looking for highly motivated, QA-passionate automation developer with a high proficiency in C++ and/or Java - strong OO skills.
Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
2+ years coding experience with Java/C++
2+ years test automation experience with Windows applications and Web applications (not record/replay automation)
Expert in troubleshooting and debugging Windows applications.
Huge Plus: experience with Selenium and/or TestComplete, and Quality Center API
Plus: Working knowledge of Javascript or VBScript, and COM/OLE automation.
Nice to have: experience using virtualization for test automation, using VMware ESX server or Lab Manager.
