General Summary
We are looking for an individual with a wide breadth and depth of knowledge of database warehouse and business intelligence analytics experience and skills to be part of Sling analytics team. Someone who also has Hadoop/Hive data warehouse experience would be our ideal candidate.

Essential Responsibilities
• Analytics, planning, strategizing, and architecting Data Warehouse/Data Mart Systems for Sling Media products
• ETL design and implementation including creation of data mappings and workflows, jobs scheduling, maintenance, and enhancement of custom ETL codes
• Large-scale database performance tuning
• Participate in review meetings to discuss PRD requirements and translate them into Product Engineering Specifications.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure that the design/implementation is highly modular, portable and performance optimized.
• Report periodically regarding project progress, issues, etc. on a regular basis. Highlight new technologies, trends and opportunities and integrate into plans accordingly.
• Ensure a sustained, high level of communications with users in all functional areas of the company to ensure that plans are constantly aligned with changing business needs.





Job Specifications/Requirements

• BS/MS. (Electronics or Computer Engineering) with minimum of 5+ years experience in design and development.
• Expert knowledge and architecture experience of large-scale Data Warehouse/Data Mart
• Expertise in Cube/OLAP and MDX
• Familiar with SQL, query plan analysis, contention/locking analysis and tuning. Teradata scale of performance tuning experience is preferred
• Hands on knowledge with multiple large scale distributed databases such as MySql, Oracle, TeraData, etc
• Work experiences of performing complex high volume data processing on large clusters
• Experience with Hadoop/MapReduce is a huge plus
• Good knowledge of Unix and Linux scripting
• Good development knowledge to address performance, scalability and efficiency issues
• Respond to and solve technical problems
