This enterprise software company is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their UI Engineering team to participate in the design and implementation of our next-generation UI framework as part of a shift to new services-based application architecture. This is a hands-on development position.

UI Engineers own the user interface framework used as a basis for front-end development across the large and growing enterprise product suite. They are expected to work closely with Product Management to gain a detailed understanding of framework requirements and to work closely with other members of Product Development to coordinate development efforts. This person should have excellent technical skills, a passion for pushing the limits and strong attention to details.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and develop next-generation UI framework with Adobe Flex and Java
• Enhance current UI Component framework using Java, XML, Javascript, CSS, and AJAX
• Reduce the application development cost over time by simplify the interfaces of the UI framework
• Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, implement, test and support reusable UI components
• Collaborate closely with UI Designers and Application Architects to define and implement features for business users in more than one application
• Collaborate with UI and application development teams in the US and India

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• This is the KEY requirement....Please don't apply unless you meet this one! MUST have experience building or maintaining frameworks or reuseable components in support of other developers. (It doesn't have to be a UI framework).
• MUST have Strong Object-Oriented Design skills
• MUST have hands-on experience with J2EE technologies
• Some experience using FLEX and/or AJAX/Javascript to develop web-based applications desirable but the only requirement is a willingness to learn these technologies
• Familiarity with Web Services Technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, Apache Axis/JAXWS) desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on teamwork
• Fast learner, able to pick up new ideas and approaches quickly
• BS or MS in Computer Science
