what we are selling here is a 1984 fleetwood southwind 30 foot motorhome with only 71000 miles. i just aquired this as a debt payment and do not know everything about it but i will tell you everything i see, know, and have fixed already.
the chassis
the chassis seems to be in good operating condition. the 7.4 litre 454 engine starts right up and runs great with no noises or smoke. it has great oil pressure and charges fine. it does have two small exhaust leaks from the manifolds. the transmission is a automatic and shifts smooth and fine. for brakes it has 4 wheel disc and the pedal feels fine also. tires look to be ok with plenty of thread. the gerenator is an onan genset that is in great running and operating condition with no smoke or noises.
the exterior
the outside of this is in pretty good shape for the age. i have replaced alot of the harware with stainless steel. this has the drivers door with roll up window. the body is not beat up except for some curb rashes around the bottom and some faded stripes. and steps need replacing. we have sprayed all the lower portions with rocker/stone guard and it really looks good. drivers side picture shows it taped just before spraying it. the passengers side is done in the pictures. ther will be a new window installed in the cabin door for the new owner. the roof appears to be good. and it has a spare tire and cover and a reciever hitch on the back. the two awnings are funtional and in good shape. every single light on this thing works and all the glass is good.
interior
the inside of this thing is in pretty good shape except where it looks like someone left the windows open in the rain and the back room got wet. i think with new wall paper it would be fine. it does not appear that the roof leaks because the ceiling looks great with no stains. the front windshield apparantly leaked a little at one time according to a small tain on dash. the floors seem solid all over. the driver has a clarion am/fm cassette player, power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, a/c, gas heat, roll up window, captains chairs and full gauges. everything on dash works except for dash a/c blower doesnt run and generator start button doesnt start generator but does turn it off but i may have that fixed by the time it sells. the roof top a/c works fine and the frigerator seems to work. i did not hook up water due to winterizing reasons but i am told everthing is ok except for the kitchen fauset leaks a little. the carpet and seats are fine and i see no rips. this model sleeps up to six people. it has beeds in back room, pull out couch, and pull down bed over driver/passenger area. all curtains seem fine and this does have the central vacumn cleaner system. in front of couch is a spot for a drop in table and the table between the chairs extenses out also. stove works, microwave works and all interior lights work. comes with one tv in rear bedroom and is wired for cable tv. the indicator lights and gauges over the door all work fine also.
all in all this thing is in pretty good shape and i would not be scared to drive it anywhere and it is presentable. with a little attention to some small details it could be darn near perfect. i dont think anyone would be disappointed if they came out to see it in person.
